Separation and Recovery of Sc(III) and Y(III) from Aqueous Acidic Media with <i>N</i>-Lauroylsarcosine

In this study, the selective extraction and mutual separation of Sc(III) Y(III) from Ni(II), Co(II) Mn(II) in acidic media were performed with N-lauroylsarcosine (NLS) toluene. The experimental results quantitatively analyzed using conventional slope analysis method. This method reasonably elucidated equilibrium formulation these metals LNS. Isostearic acid only a carboxylic group molecule extracted higher pH region compared that LNS having amide moieties. Therefore, we found included structure NLS plays an important role to extract metals. Mutual was carried out by one-step media. is more strongly than NLS, factor quite high at 4.68×103. Furthermore, stripping into organic phase achieved appropriate concentrations various acids.
